“Ukiyo-e” printmaking demonstration for English speakers

Outline of the printmaking demonstration

Whole printmaking process of “Big Wave” by Hokusai Katsushika (It is one of the most famous and popular Ukiyo-e in the world) will be demonstrated by the master printer. The demonstration will be held with English commentary by Koko Nakayama (curator and councilor of The Adachi Foundation) for English speakers who live in Japan.

Admission is free. Application will be accepted by Phone, Fax or Email ( ukiyoe@adachi-hanga.com ) in the order of arrival.
Application must have the name of the applicant, the number of spectator and reachable telephone number. Applications will close at the 30 applicants including Japanese attendant.

The Adachi Foundation for the preservation of woodcut printing works to preserve, inherit and publicize the traditional woodcut printing techniques (located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Chairman: Isamu Adachi)
The Adachi Foundation will hold the Ukiyo-e printmaking demonstration with English commentary at its showroom in Shinjuku, Tokyo, which has been requested by a lot of English speakers.
