1. Paper

We use Japanese handmade paper made from 100% of mulberry tree fiber. This paper is made with no machine press and chemical breach to keep its fiber longest and strongest, so it has slight uneven surface or sometimes slightly darker colored fibers if you have a close look. Only this very precious handmade paper can bring rich color of Japanese woodcut prints beautifully and strong enough to go through our printing process. We wet the paper during the printing process and then dry to make it flat. The print might show slight waves or stains if it is kept in high humidity.

2. Pigments

We use water base colors and many of them are natural pigments. Some of them have a tendency of fading color when it is exposed in the direct light (sun or strong light) for a certain period. Please keep your print out of the direct or strong light as much as possible.

Because of these characters, even if you find any of those appearances on your print, it does not mean that the print is defected or imperfect. None of our prints come out exactly same like a digital print. Even though our highly skilled artisans try to make the difference between each print as least as possible, there are still some.

*Adachi's printmaking process:

We carefully examine and take pictures of each print as a record before its shipment. However, if you find any significant imperfection or issue as well as a damage during the shipment, please contact us within 2 weeks from its arrival. We will do our best to solve the problems. We are not able to accept any return or exchange of the print after 2 weeks of its arrival. Also, we do not accept any print for return or exchange once it is framed or unframed outside of our studio. Please contact us before you attempt to frame or unframe if you find any problem. The surface of the print is extremely delicate. Please handle it with special caution. We are not able to exchange the print unless it has a significant reason to be exchanged. Also, if we have no available print in stock to exchange, it is going to be refund instead of exchanged.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any question or concern.
