Ukiyo-e with figures had many trends at that time! The ladies in ukiyo-e were designed with fashionable kimono and hair style to show trends at that time. Kiyonaga is well known for his tall slender beauties in gorgeous kimonos. Those Kimono were often printed with elaborate printing techniques such as Karazuri (embossing printing). Utamaro depicted many ladies in closed up with more facial expressions and charming items.
