The Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints creates reproduction of Ukiyo-e prints with the same traditional techniques that were used in the Edo period, when the original Ukiyo-e prints were made. Skilled artisans carefully create each print. The vividly colored traditional crafts of Japan are reasonably priced and popular as gifts around the world.

Ukiyo-e from Japan had a great influence on impressionist artists such as Van Gogh and Monet. They were attracted to the intriguing compositions and vibrant colors of Ukiyo-e, which were previously unseen in Western paintings.

Since around Meiji period (1868-1912), many good quality Ukiyo-e prints traveled abroad and were appreciated as symbols of Japanese culture. Today, the Ukiyo-e prints are included in museum collections and fascinate people around the world.

In recent years, the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints has been invited several times a year by famous museums including the British Museum and diplomatic establishments abroad to conduct demonstrations of Ukiyo-e techniques.
