The smartphone wallpaper of September is Hiroshige's "Night at Saruwakacho". It is one of prints from Hiroshige's successful series, "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo". It is a very unique piece of the series and depicts the street view of Saruwakacho area where it is famous for many theaters and their related stores or restaurants. Hiroshige boldly used the perspective effect from front to back in the impressive night scene with a full moon. It is a beautiful night scene which is perfect for the autumn smartphone wallpaper!

■ "Night at Saruwakacho" by Utagawa Hiroshige

"Night at Saruwakacho" is one of prints from Hiroshige's successful series, "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo". It is a very unique piece of the series and depicts the street view of Saruwakacho entertainment area. Hiroshige boldly used the perspective effect from front to back, which seems to inspire Van Gogh to create "Café Terrace at Night". Hiroshige learned the shadow expression or one point perspective from the West and Van Gogh learned from the East!
